Toll Plaza Locations

There are two toll plazas on the M6 Toll. Your payment is taken at one of these depending on your direction of travel:

Between T3 and T4

You encounter this plaza when travelling south (from Cannock towards Coleshill/M42). It is in the central section of the route near Weeford.

Speed Limits and Cameras

The M6 Toll has the standard UK motorway speed limit of 70mph on the main carriageway. This applies to the entire 27-mile route between junctions. The road is a six-lane motorway (three lanes in each direction) with good surface quality and modern road design.

The speed limit drops to 30mph on approach to and through the toll plazas. This lower limit is clearly signed and applies from the approach gantries until you have passed through the barriers and rejoined the main carriageway.

ANPR cameras are present throughout the M6 Toll for toll payment and enforcement purposes. There are no fixed speed cameras on the main carriageway, but police enforcement patrols regularly operate on the route. West Midlands Police and Staffordshire Police both patrol the M6 Toll.

Variable speed limits may apply in some sections during roadworks or incidents. Check overhead gantry signs and obey any temporary speed restrictions.
